Quick and Clean Caramel Sauce Recipe

This five-minute effort results in something a whole lot better than what you get from the grocery store.

Here is a no-nonsense recipe for a simple, pungent caramel sauce. You can whip it up in about five minutes, and it goes well on both banana cake and apple cake.

Ingredients

  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 4 tbsp heavy cream
  • 1 c sugar

Steps

  1. In a small pot, melt butter until lightly browned.
  2. Stir in cream and sugar.
  3. Keep stirring until desired consistency is reached during the boil. About 3-4 minutes.

And that’s it: I guarantee it’ll beat anything you find in the grocery store.

I didn’t take a picture the last time I made a caramel sauce, so instead, here is a premade one from my youth. It goes well on ice cream.
